      Using Nutrition to Battle Cancer

Susan Bratton started Savor Health after losing a close friend to a brain tumor and, through that experience, becoming aware of the significant unmet nutritional needs of people with cancer.   Struck by the fact that her friend was told “nutrition doesn’t matter” and “eat whatever you want,” Susan read the evidence-based literature on the subject and found that, in fact, nutrition does matter in oncology.  Armed with solid scientific evidence supporting the clinical and quality of life benefits of proper nutrition, Susan left Wall Street and created Savor Health, a provider of personalized and practical nutrition solutions for cancer patients, their caregivers and health enterprises.  Susan brings to Savor Health over 25 years of industry experience in healthcare and business as well as expertise in strategy, finance and management.

Susan is an outspoken and tireless advocate for cancer patients receiving proper nutrition and nutrition support before, during and after treatment. She strongly believes that the U. S. healthcare system requires new innovation to transform it into a more holistic and integrated system of care whereby multiple disciplines coordinate care together for the benefit of the whole patient.  As part of this, her goal is for nutrition to be an integral component of such an integrated cancer care delivery system.    Susan’s commitment to the field of oncology extends beyond Savor Health to volunteer work at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in pediatrics and as a runner for Fred’s Team to raise money for research at Memorial Sloan Kettering.  Susan participated in the Cancer Moonshot in June of 2016 where she was a breakout session group “igniter” tasked with starting and leading discussion.  Susan’s first book, the Meals to Heal Cancer Cookbook, was published in March 2016.

In addition to her role as CEO of Savor Health, Susan speaks nationally about the importance of ensuring proper nutrition in the cancer patient and on topics including leadership and startups. She has been a speaker at the Harvard Medical School’s Career Advancement and Leadership Skills for Women in Healthcare, ESMO World Congress on GI Cancer, BioPharm America, AARP Live @50+, Lake Nona Impact Forum, and IIR ePharma Summit.

Prior to starting Savor Health, Susan had a successful career on Wall Street as a healthcare services investment banker working at prestigious firms including Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Wasserstein Perella and Robertson Stephens. Susan earned a B.A. from Duke University and M.B.A. from the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business.

Jessica Iannotta is a registered dietitian and certified specialist in oncology nutrition (CSO) – one of less than 800 in the world. She studied nutrition at Cornell University and completed her dietetic internship at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center. She obtained her Master’s degree through the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Jessica has worked in inpatient and outpatient oncology settings since 2001 in the North Shore-LIJ Health System.

Jessica is in charge of all operations including clinical and culinary operations ranging from menu development to evidence-based website content, relationships with registered dietitians and social workers and developing processes and protocols for intake, management and outcomes analysis of patients.

Chemistry for Cognitive Enhancement with Dr. Stickler

      Chemistry for Cognitive Enhancement

Dr. Daniel Stickler is Medical Director of Neurohacker Collective, bringing decades of forward thinking medical knowledge in wellness optimization and whole systems science to our team.

Dr.Stickler is a future-focused visionary and a thought leader in human potential. He is the cof ounder of the Apeiron Center for Human Potential and the Apeiron Academy. Disheartened by our current “sick care” approach to health, Dr. Stickler created Human Potential Medicine- an integrated, biospherical systems-approach that combines the scientific grounding and expertise of modern medicine with leading-edge genetic/epigenetic science and neuro-psychophysiological modalities to expand human capacity. He also established the Apeiron Academy, which offers advanced education to a tribe of like-minded individuals determined to shift the health & wellness paradigm from the current sick-care model to one of optimized human potential.

Dr. Stickler entered medical school with a vision of helping people create an optimized life and found very quickly that the training focused predominantly on treating disease to postpone our stepwise progression to death. This realization was the catalyst for a several decade journey to create a new way of living. An opportunity to one promote youthful longevity and the potential for limitless life.

His journey began as a general/vascular surgeon specializing in laparoscopic weight loss surgery. Striving for the best possible outcomes, he created a highly successful whole systems approach in collaboration with a skilled team of dietitians, health psychologists, and exercise physiologists. After 10 years and nearly 3,000 operations, he concluded that the surgical approach was not an ideal option for long term health and knew that lifestyle was the key to creating optimized health.

The quest to discover the ideal approach to optimizing human potential took him on a path through functional medicine, alternative care, holistic approaches, naturopathic, and age-management medicine. Each modality fell short of the outcome of a truly optimized human as most were still focused on the disease model and in fact were not much different from the allopathic approach.

Continuing to search, an obsession with genetics and epigenetics was birthed. Following 10,000+ hours of research and several thousand client interactions, he correlates improved clinical outcomes with implementing lifestyle modifications to optimize genetic expressions. Finally, he has found the answer to precision programming for an optimized life: the DNA code, the blueprint design of all of life. This discovery has led to the clear knowing that we truly have the ability to architect our evolution.

Dr. Stickler’s leadership informing Neurohacker Collective’s approach to the science of human optimization, will deliver some of the most well researched and scientifically rigorous products available in the wellness market for years to come.
