By now you’ve probably heard of CBD (short for Cannabidiol) and may have already tried it. It’s exploded onto the US market in recent years, usually in the form of a CBD containing oil, and is being hailed as a safe and non-addictive treatment and preventative for many different health issues.

This makes CBD an excellent alternative to pharmaceuticals—many of which come with harmful or harsh side effects. Last month, Cannabis Business Executive reported: “CBD’s domestic market reached $291 million in 2017 and will hit $1.65 billion by 2021.”

So its popularity is currently skyrocketing, and for plenty of good reasons!

CBD is one of over a hundred types of phytocannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. But CBD products sold in the US are made from extracts of specific strains of cannabis that contain only trace amounts of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol)—the main cannabinoid responsible for cannabis’ intoxicating effects—so you don’t need to worry about feeling high from using products containing CBD. It won’t happen!

But you can look forward to some pretty spectacular benefits with regular use.

Both CBD and THC have their own therapeutic value, but products containing more than trace amounts of THC are only available for purchase in states where medical and/or recreational marijuana have been legalized.

CBD products, on the other hand, are legal in all 50 states now and can be purchased online or in local stores and cannabis dispensaries. In December 2018, Congress approved the Farm Bill, which removed hemp and hemp-derived CBD from the Controlled Substances Act, resulting in a surge of CBD food and drink products in popping up across the nation—so don’t be surprised if you see CBD products offered at your local watering hole or your favorite restaurant soon.

So Many Potential Health Benefits!

CBD and THC are the most widely studied compounds found in cannabis, and CBD has been widely studied and found promising for treating and preventing dozens of different health conditions naturally, including:

  • Anxiety, OCD and PTSD
  • Sleep disorders
  • Epileptic Seizures
  • Cancer
  • Nausea
  • Pain and Inflammation
  • Schizophrenia
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Heart Attack
  • Gut Disorders

It’s been found to have anti-inflammatory, anti-convulsant, antioxidant and many other beneficial properties, which can help with countless health issues—and all with either no negative side effects or mild ones like drowsiness or dry mouth!

CASE STUDY: 10 YEARS OF INSOMNIA

I had a 49-year-old male patient who exercised regularly but suffered from insomnia for 10 years. He used alcohol to relax, but would still toss and turn and only get 5-6 hours of restless sleep per night.

He said he felt 20 years older than his age and even thought that he looked old as well. I started him on an anti-inflammatory diet with small amounts of white kimchi, got him off alcohol, had him do light therapy in the morning to reboot his circadian rhythm, and start taking CBD oil…1 drop in the right ear well and 2 drops under the tongue.

In 10 days, he reported: “ First time in 10 years getting a good night sleep! I am falling asleep within 15 minutes of laying down and staying asleep until my wake up time. I am getting 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep per day now, it’s like a miracle Dr. Bennett!”

This is a great example of the power of CBD combined with healthy lifestyle choices!

Not All CBD Products are Created Equal

Products containing CBD come in many forms, ranging from oils to liquid extracts to powders to capsules. They’re not well-regulated yet, so wise consumers should do a bit of research before trying any product containing CBD. Look for products with clear, easy to understand ingredient lists.

Oils are the most popular way of administering CBD, and new companies are popping up every day offering their own CBD oils, but the difference between the one that I use and others currently on the market is in the delivery system.

I recommend NanoPure Hemp Oil—which has been nanosized—meaning that it’s at the nanometer size for optimal absorption in the body. Because of it’s nanosize, you only need a couple of drops under the tongue and one drop inside the well of the ear.

I recommend that my patients use it a couple of times per day, morning and night. Other CBD oils don’t absorb through the skin and intestinal tract as well due to the larger particle size, so you need higher amounts. Instead of drops, the dosage is more like dropperfuls. So you get more bang for your buck with the NanoPure Hemp Oil.

Right now, it’s only available through my office, but will be available online soon. If you want to know when NanoPure Hemp Oil will be available to be purchased online, click here to email my office.

And if you haven’t tried CBD yet for its many benefits, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you do!

      You CAN Boost Your Confidence

Early childhood experiences and traumas impact young people’s self-esteem and confidence. Confidence is the belief in oneself and one’s ability to succeed. Knowing you are at least good at something is a huge boost.

You can learn confidence. It is developed when you know you can handle the outcome of whatever you pursue. Developing confidence in one area can overflow into other areas of life. Having a positive outlook and being able to handle unpleasant feelings set you on the path to confidence.

When disappointment hits, you must allow your body to experience the physiological effects of the unpleasant feelings. It takes about ninety seconds for your body to run out the physiological effects.

When you dwell on unpleasant feelings, your mind is trying to reach a resolution. Be mindful of what you’re thinking, feeling and observing. Insights may come that result in expressions, decisions or actions.
